Our Owner Trained Service Dog Program provides professional guidance and individualized training to help clients successfully train their own service dog. We are committed to supporting you throughout your owner-trained service dog journey & equipping you & your dog with the skills, knowledge, & tools needed to achieve your goals & work toward certification.
Summit's Owner Trained Mission, Vision & Philosophy
Our team of experienced service dog trainers will be dedicated to work alongside you & your service dog in training to support your individual needs. Summit will work seamlessly with you to gain the skills & confidence necessary to be a successful service dog team.
Our vision right from the beginning was to have our program focus on QUALITY. We are dedicated to concentrating on the little details to ensure we do what is right for our clients & their dogs.
All dogs under our training umbrella will be trained using positive reinforcement. We do NOT use aversive techniques or equipment.
Owner Trained Program Overview
Summit will provide weekly or twice monthly classes in both private & group settings to set each individual team up for success.
During the Owner Trained Process Summit will Provide:
- Training classes for you & your service dog
- Access to owner trained materials, videos & social media community platform
- A Summit Service Dog ID card & in training vest
- Assistance in readiness for Government Certification
Upon Graduation of your Training Summit will Provide:
- Final Assessment
- Application to the Government of Alberta for your Service Dog Team ID Card
- Summit Service Dog vest will be awarded & valid for the life your dog is in service
- Ongoing support & follow up during the life of your dog in service
